CapCut pricing in 2026: what free, Standard and Pro cost
CapCut is free to start. The App Store lists Standard at $9.99 a month and Pro at $19.99 a month, and tracking sites report Pro as $179.99 a year. Pro was about $9.99 before the change in early 2026. CapCut doesn't show prices on capcut.com, so the Upgrade screen inside the app is the number that counts.
CapCut plans and what they cost
The monthly prices come from CapCut's own App Store listing. What each tier includes comes from third-party guides, because CapCut has no pricing page we could open.

Why the price on your screen can differ
3 things move the number. Buying inside the iPhone app costs a few dollars more than buying on the web, because Apple takes a cut. Prices differ by country. And CapCut changed its plans between late 2025 and early 2026: one guide reports that Pro roughly doubled from about $9.99 to $19.99 a month, and that people already on an annual plan moved to the new rate around February 2026.
I found no statement from CapCut about why the price changed, so I won't guess. What I can say is that older lists, videos and blog posts still show $9.99 for Pro. If a price you read is from before 2026, assume it's out of date.
Before you pay, open Settings, then the Upgrade screen in the app, and read the yearly price and the trial length there. Set a reminder for the day the trial ends. That habit matters with any subscription app.
What the free version can and can't do
Free CapCut is a real editor: trim, split, captions, music. Where it stops depends on the guide you read. One says exports carry a watermark on Free, another says HD export is limited. I couldn't confirm either on a first-party page, so test one export before you plan a project around it.
The upgrade pressure comes from a short list: 4K and HDR export, cloud storage, the AI tools that spend credits, and premium templates. For talking-head video shot on a phone, most people need only the first. If you post 1080p to social, you may never need Pro.

A fair comparison, or not
Not really. It would be dishonest to say it is. CapCut is a full editor with a timeline, templates and effects. CutKit is a teleprompter and recorder that cuts your retakes and stops there. If you already edit in CapCut, adding CutKit is one more app and one more bill.
The case for CutKit is narrow. You talk to the camera, you flub lines, and you want a clean cut without opening an editor at all. If that's you, $59.99 a year does one job.
